What is thrive! ?

thrive! Woodland Park Zoo’s annual spring fundraiser, attracts more than 400 of the Puget Sound region’s community leaders each year. thrive! is a vital fundraising vehicle that raises unrestricted support for Woodland Park Zoo, while honoring the zoo’s long-range goals. Each year, thrive! has been increasingly successful in raising much needed funds, generating event attendance and hosting a wonderful evening for our guests to celebrate the zoo!

The celebration includes a four-course dinner, commemorative gifts, and an engaging speaker, expert in his/her field, selected to educate our guests on animal species, conservation, or childhood learning.

All funds raised from thrive! go towards wildlife conservation, new naturalistic exhibits for the animals, and education programs for children. Your support enables Woodland Park Zoo to continue to grow and flourish as one of the world’s finest zoos.

More than 300 key business leaders and philanthropists, along with the best and brightest future leaders, attend thrive! each year. They attend because it’s a wonderful opportunity to support our community’s treasure, Woodland Park Zoo, and learn the inside scoop on the zoo’s future plans. We feel it is important for our guests to have the opportunity to hear from the zoo’s leaders and its expert partners about how the zoo makes strides towards the future.

Woodland Park Zoo attracts over one million visitors a year and its members include over 45,000 households. These people care about the zoo and its mission to provide world-class animal care, education and wildlife conservation projects.

Woodland Park Zoo is a very special institution where families and individuals have come together to enjoy learning about animals for over 100 years. They benefit from seeing animals in award-winning naturalistic settings and hearing about the zoo’s numerous conservation efforts around the world. People of all ages discover the importance of protecting the animals and the environment around them through the many education programs at the zoo.

“ Woodland Park Zoo saves animals and their habitats through conservation leadership and engaging experiences, inspiring people to learn, care and act.”
